The Hoover Wilderness is on the East Side of the sierras, just east of Tioga Pass. This is how it looks on the drive up from Lee Vining.
We went to the Lee Vining Ranger Station, not knowing we could've gotten wilderness permits for this area at Tuolume Meadows. We rented our bear canisters here too. |
